Number 8, August 2025 » Financial and performance management
Abstract: Agrologis SA, a Romanian agribusiness company, faced rapid growth that generated operational complexity and highlighted the imperative need to professionalize the procurement function. Initially, activities were fragmented, decentralized, and marked by a lack of control and visibility. The article aims to analyze the impact of digital transformation on the procurement flow, identify the challenges of the transition from the traditional to the digital model and propose a modern optimization model. The case study is based on internal data analysis, semi-structured interviews, SWOT analysis, process mapping and KPI evaluation, focusing on the course of Agrologis SA before and after the implementation of the ERP system. Digitalization has led to a significant reduction in procurement processing time, a considerable increase in user satisfaction and substantial savings through renegotiations and optimizations. Transparency, traceability and risk management have improved, and the on-time delivery rate has increased significantly. The study demonstrates that the professionalization and digitalization of the procurement function redefines competitiveness and sustainability in agribusiness. The proposed model is transferable and has practical value for similar companies that want to move from ad-hoc approaches to strategic performance in procurement.
